Tenable is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Nessus Engines product team. Nessus is the #1 vulnerability scanner in the market and the core of the Tenable network security product line, enabling organizations to address the ever-evolving challenge of understanding and mitigating their cybersecurity risk. As a Software Engineer on the Nessus team, you will contribute towards designing, developing and maintaining our Nessus product, used by Enterprise customers to secure their networks, thousands of consultants worldwide, as well as home users, hobbyists and students. ### Your Opportunity: - Make meaningful contributions to a product that forms the backbone of security infrastructure for companies and governments across the world. - Work cross-functionally with other developers, UX designers, product owners and various Tenable teams to design, develop and maintain a world-class product. - Design, architect, and code new features. - Promote clear and simple software design while actively driving the team toward better practices and solutions. - Promote high quality aimed at areas such as security, reliability, testability and maintainability. - Work with team and cross-team members to design, develop, debug and release production quality products. - Drive innovation by contributing new ideas for our processes, tools, and technologies. - Coach and mentor mid-level and junior staff. ### What You’ll Need: - B.S. degree in Computer Science or a directly related field, or equivalent work experience. - 8+ years of software development experience in C and C++ and a willingness to learn new technologies.
